ごあいさつ

Once upon a time, well before Japan became an economic giant, there was a young man in a small village of Wakayama, Japan. His name was Yamamoto, Katsunosuke.

Thrift, Provident, Industrial and Creative.

He invested his talents to a frontier business of the time, made full use of the natural environment of his village and promoted Sansho and Shuro businesses in his community. As a result, he not only brought a fortune to his family but also built a foundation for the local industries. Now, Wakayama produces 80 % of the Sansho in the entire country and Kainan city is the main home of household products which are sold all over Japan.
We, as great granddaughters of Katsunosuke, were raised and spent our childhood in the house Katsunosuke built, which is now registered as a cultural heritage by Agent of Cultural Affairs of the Japanese Government.

If this website could help you to enjoy his heritage with us, we would love to share further information with you.
